Weapons Forms

The Tai Chi weapon forms are intrinsically elegant and of great practical use in combat situations, even with substitute weapons such as a rolled-up newspaper or an umbrella. Practice linking the weapon to the body also enhances one’s basic form, through the extra balance required and the goal of focusing one’s chi to the tip of the weapon. Push Hands

Push-Hands is a two person exercise unique to Tai Chi Chuan. Proficiency in push-hands is necessary to high-level tai chi practice. For this reason, we recommend that students begin their push-hands training as soon as they know the tai chi form and before they begin Fighting Class. Initially, push-hands class will simply re-enforce the alignment principles taught during the form. But then, it may be considered as the bridge between the Form and fighting practice. Learn More …

San Shou – Fighting

In addition to being a quiet, peaceful practice, Tai Chi is known for its superiority as a martial art. By developing internal power and the technique of yielding, Tai Chi students can neutralize opponents with much greater speed and strength. This is summed up in the saying, “four ounces deflect a thousand pounds.” Because Tai Chi is a fighting art, training in self-defense applications also provides essential refinement for one’s practice of the form. Teacher Certification

CK Chu Tai Chi offers teacher certification in Eternal Spring Chi Kung™, Eternal Spring Tai Chi™, Nei Kung, Tai Chi for Health (TCH), and Master of Tai Chi (Tai Chi for Health and Self-Defense). The program is designed progressively so that work put in for the Eternal Spring™ Chi Kung certification (ESTC) can be applied towards the Nei Kung certificate (NKTC) and so on. Learn More…
